The skies had been overcast all week making landscape photography more challenging to say the least. Today though, the forecast had promised the sun would make an appearance. As I reached the edge of Lindley Moor there was an orange glow in the sky to the south on the other side of Wharfedale. Faint rays of sunlight began to break through the thinning grey cloud above me. It was hazy, and the distant hills and ridges appeared like monochromatic layers of a shadow puppet show. In an adjacent field a sheep and hawthorn tree stood silhouetted against the winter light.
